Jaipur blocks

Our Jaipur blocks story is inspired by the heritage art of printing using wooden blocks. We have grown up seeing block prints around in our homes from tablecloths, mats, upholstery to clothing. It’s been an integral part of our DIY when we had limited means. Our mothers used this technique often for surface decoration to covering mended areas of old clothes. In today’s modern world the technique has gained more popularity and artisans are more skilled to sculpt various designs on wooden blocks. We are not using actual blocks but taking away the technique and patterns and created our own motifs with our imagination and inspiration. In our last trips to Jaipur in few years, we have been more inspired by the modern application of block printing urging us to get inspired from this story.
